In compliance to National Building Code of Fiji under Public health Act , HASAW Act 1996 and NFA Amended Act, 2009, buildings must be constructed as per approved plans and to be inspected by NFA after completion including existing buildings for new business, to confirm compliance to minimum requirements as follows:
1) Fire resistance and stability
2) Access and egress
3) Fire services and equipment
4) Building use
5) General Housekeeping
6) Fire Safety & Evacuation Training(With reference to Australia and New Zealand standards)
