Application for Structural Fire Safety New Development Approval
In compliance to National Building Code of Fiji under Public health Act, all building plans have to be approved by NFA to meet the minimum requirements (with reference to Australia and New Zealand standards) as follows:
1) Fire resistance and stability
2) Access and egress
3) Fire services and equipment
For complex development, a pre-submission concept meeting is available.

Required Forms
SFS 1: Application for Structural Fire Safety Approval, Inspection and Services
SFS 5: Design Certificate of Practicing Structural Engineer for the Fire Safety Elements of a construction
For complex projects, 2 additional forms are required:
SFS 4: Fire Safety Engineering Design Report
SFS 6: Peer Review and Check of Design Certificate of Practicing Structural Engineer for Fire Safety

1.Certified Fire Engineer Report (in English) (for development of building above $2 mil in value and where sprinkler is required). The engineer must be a certified member of the Institute of Fire Engineers.
